Established in 2014, Word for Word Therapy Services, LLC, is a privately owned agency providing outpatient speech and language services to adults and children in the DFW area. Our therapists have combined 30+ years of professional experience in a variety of settings.
What We Do
Our company’s mission is to help clients achieve effective communication and swallowing in their community and the confidence to become comfortable with who they are even after life changing events at times. We show clients ways to get off of the ‘sideline’ and participate in life. We aim to establish the reputation of offering hope, practical help, and sincere concern for families, even after discharge from speech therapy services. We’re just an extension of their family.
We treat communication disorders including apraxia of speech, articulation disorders, motor speech disorders, language disorders, swallowing and feeding disorders, voice disorders, and fluency disorders. Often these disorders manifest as the result of or in conjunction with Autism, Traumatic Brain injury, developmental delays, stroke and other progressive conditions (Parkinson’s, MS, Dementia). Who We Are
I have spent the majority of my career working in the home health and school environment. My passion not only includes working with children but educating parents and families as well. I specialize in articulation, language, fluency. I really enjoy supervising new therapists and assisting them in providing engaging therapy to the children we treat. I received my undergraduate degree from The University of Southern Mississippi and graduate degree from Tennessee State University.
I have practiced speech-language pathology for 21 years. During this time, I have provided treatment for individuals from newborn to 102 years old. I am co-owner and current therapist practicing with Word for Word Therapy Services. My special certifications include VitalStim NMES and LSVT LOUD. I have professional experience in inpatient rehabilitation, specialized private schools, public schools, assisted living facilities, and home health settings. I love what I do and love meeting new people and their families. When I meet a new client, it’s typically at a challenging time so, it brings me joy to work with each of them creating ways to make everyday more manageable. As I learn about each individual’s life story and experiences, I am grateful to have been a helpful part of their journey.
